Monika Shaded does not paint purely for an aesthetic pleasure. She explores and lives through her painting, which functions as a filter for understanding and learning reality – both visible and invisible. Monika takes an effort of searching for her own style, which is an effect of consistent work, hours spent in a workshop: studies of line, colour, spot. In her painting you can feel thinking with colour, that is an element creating a new reality. Very important aspect of her work is the role of light, that seems to glow from withing the paintings.

The subject’s of the artist’s work are complex thoughts about man and his life journey. Her paintings are transcriptions of emotions, and they constitute a certain kind of diary. The art of using a painting as a medium is the ability to transfer personal experiences onto the language of painting, it’s conveying universal values without unnecessary didactics. Not deforming, but highlighting reality – a private space-time, sort of intimacy.

Monika Shaded considers her art as a path for development, and the need of expressing her inner self highlights sensitivity and courage of the young Artist. In the modern world that functions under market pressure, it is a very assertive stance.

A creator, an artist is not a person who learned how to use a brush and paint, but someone who studies himself and the reality around him in order to build a new value. Monika is one of such artists.
